GUJRANWALA: Gujranwala district administration on Saturday continued the anti-smog crackdown and sealed four melting factories and issued traffic rules violation challans to 286 vehicles. Reportedly, the Environment Protection Department (EPD) teams during inspection sealed four factories including Brass melting and Fayyaz melting works. Moreover, traffic police issued challans to 286 vehicles and fined Rs 62,000 to smoke-emitting vehicles.
Man dies in fatal road accident
A man lost his life on Saturday when a car rammed into his motorcycle in Otawa area of Gujranwala. Reportedly, Amanat, resident of Kamoki, was on his way when a speeding car hit him. Resultantly, he died on the spot.
Under-16 sports trials to commence from Oct 15
According to a press release issued by the district sports officer, under-16 trials will be held from October 15 till 25 in all tehsils of the district. The players who want to participate in the trials have been directed to submit their family registration card (FRC) to their relevant tehsil sports officer before October 15. The players who are interested in Athletics, Badminton, Cricket, Football, Kabadi, Volleyball and wrestling may apply for these trials.
