SUKKUR: A fraud involving Rs30.587 million was reported against former Bank of Punjab (BoP) Sukkur city branch manager on Friday.
The FIR lodged with B Section police station alleges that the former manager of the bank, identified as Nasir Mehmood Siddiqui, had embezzled Rs.30.587 million. It said that Nasir Mehmood was embezzling money in connivance of other employees – identified as Hussain Ali Larik, Habib Kamangar and Abdullah Qureshi. It said the suspects had withdrawn more than Rs.30.587 million fraudulently from various accounts maintained at the bank branch since 2013.
Meanwhile, The FIA Sukkur has constituted a team to scrutinise the case thoroughly. SSP Amjad Sheikh said police had started a search for the former manager. He said the current management of the BoP Sukkur branch had been cooperating with investigators
