The Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, on Tuesday, directed the Federal Health Minister Aamir Mehmood Kiyani to visit the drought-stricken Tharparkar region to assess and ensure the provision of medical facilities to the people, Radio Pakistan reported.

The premier issued these orders while meeting the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) Sindh president Ameer Bhutto and secretary general Haleem Adil Sheikh.

The premier expressed concern over the situation and assured that his government would safeguard the rights of the people of Sindh.

He also expressed his confidence in the new president and secretary general of PTI’s Sindh chapter and directed them to implement the party manifesto and policies.

PM Imran also asked them to organise the party at the union council level and to start preparations for the next local government elections.

Last month, 20 children reportedly died at the Civil Hospital Mithi in Tharparkar district. Tharparkar is going through a severe drought condition and people are migrating from the desert to other parts of Sindh.
