Despite passage of more than 30 days, the Municipal Corporation has failed to get a First Information Report registered against influential persons who have allegedly sold the government property to a private person.

According to the application submitted by Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi (MCR) on September 1, 2018, the Station House Officer of Police Station Ganjmandi was requested to register an FIR against Mian Farooq Mohiuddin and Khawaja Muqtadir Yasin for unlawful sale of municipal property of Rose Cinema.

Further, Estate Inspector Shahid Raza was directed to pursue the case on behalf of Municipal Corporation in the office of SHO. Due to the negligence and lack of following orders, even after a month’s time, no FIR has been registered.

Ganjmandi Police Station SHO Raja Azaar said that inquiry on the said application is underway in the Superintendent of Police Rawal Division office, however, the officials of SP office denied any thing pending regarding this application.

MCR Estate Inspector Shahid Raza also denied the version of SHO Ganjmandi and said, “We do not have any information regarding the inquiry.”

Sources said the suspended estate inspector Raja Majeed met the police officials after the submission of application to halt the registration of FIR. Despite repeated attempts, SP Asim Jasra could not be approached to get his version.

It is pertinent to mention that the said disputed property of Rose Cinema has already been sealed by the authorities.
