Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Tuesday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government has eliminated the infamous VIP culture from the country and the foundation of a new Pakistan has been laid by putting the country on the right direction.

“The development of a new Pakistan is a difficult and laborious job and the only way forward is to sincerely serve the people. We all have to develop new Pakistan and unique steps are being taken which will make the people realise the elements of change around them. People have voted for PTI for the purpose of bringing changes in their lives and the PTI government is working round-the-clock to come up to their expectations. We do not have any other priority except public service. The people will be given their rights and for that purpose, continuous work will have to be done with dedication so that people could be provided necessary relief and facilities,” he said this while talking to the members of Punjab Assembly belonging to Rawalpindi and Sargodha during his separate meetings which were held at Punjab House.

Detailed discussions were held to finalise strategy for the success of PTI candidate Dr Shahzad Wasim in senate election, solution of problems relating to the people and development schemes. Provincial ministers including Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, Muhammad Basharat Raja, Sardar Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Yasir Humayun, Ansar Majeed Khan Niazi, Raja Rashid Hafeez, Malik Muhammad Anwar, along with senate candidate Dr Shahzad Wasim, were also present.

The Punjab chief minister said that steps will be taken, under a composite strategy, for the identification and solution of people’s problems.

“The PTI government is sincerely striving to serve the masses,” he said adding that people will not be disappointed.

“There are deep-rooted problems but PTI is fully committed for the welfare of the masses,” he added. He said that confidence of the people on the government will never be shaken. He said a new local bodies system is being introduced in Punjab which will be helpful in solving problems relating to the masses in a genuine way.

“Now, the people will have no need to wander around the power corridors for the purpose of getting their problems solved. Instead, difficulties of the people will be solved at their doorsteps,” he said. This is the real change for which people have given the mandate to PTI to serve them through their vote.

The Punjab CM said that unprecedented steps have been taken in a brief period of time having no earlier example in the history of the country. A culture of austerity and simplicity is being promoted in the power corridors. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has started the process of change from himself. He said that an open-door policy has been initiated in government offices so that people could easily access high officials.

“We are all answerable to the people and the democratic principle of rule of the people is being implemented in a genuine manner,” he said adding that police culture is also being transformed along with the local bodies system. The police will be made free of political influence and the reforms process, in this regard, will be started soon. This would provide necessary protection to the people and police will work as defenders of the people. He said that operation started against encroachments and land grabbers will be taken to its logical end.

“Big fish will not go scot-free and directions have been issued to the concerned quarters that this operation should be continued without any pressure to make it a success,” he said adding that corruption is a cruel menace and the government will eliminate it totally.

The CM asked the assembly members to keep a close liaison with the people and steps should be taken to solve their problems on priority basis. He also issued on-spot instructions for the solution of problems of the assembly members. The Members of Provincial Assembly appreciated the steps taken by the CM and said that reforms of the PTI government will bear far-reaching effects.

Different police and administrative officers were also present on the occasion.

Separately, Usman Buzdar has sought a report from Faisalabad City Police Officer about the incident of rape-cum-murder of a child in Tandlianwala.

He directed to provide justice to the bereaved family after early completion of investigation and legal action should be initiated against the accused involved in this incident after his early arrest. He also extended sympathies to the bereaved family adding that murderer of little girl Amina will be punished as per law.
