Tsunami in Indonesia

Author: Daily Times

It is shocking to understand that an intense earthquake and tsunami have ripped through Indonesia, killing over 800 people and injuring many. The media houses have flashed the unfortunate images and highlighted the incidents that took place in Indonesia.

Countries the world over should learn from such natural disasters and make accurate plans to handle such situations in the future. More to the point, the meteorologists should take a precursor from the Indonesian episode and predict the weather conditions more accurately in advance.

Right now Indonesia is in dire need of help from all corners of the world as the people have been left out of their homes, crying for help. The international community should come forward to help the needy in Indonesia.

Besides, Asia is always prone to the weather vagaries given its geographical structure. For myself, I wish that the impending North-East monsoon should turn out to be good one sans vagaries in my native places like Tiruchendur, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. Moreover, the people from the regions like Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari have long been working hard on the land to cultivate the crops and in the sea for fishing. Such is their physique and such is their temperament. Accordingly the authority figures from the meteorological department should help them in the matter of handling the rough weather conditions.

Lastly, all the Asian countries should gear up for the weather vagaries through proper plans and better technology in order to avoid the resulting damage and deluge.
