Officials ignoring people’s problems will be taken action against: Buzdar

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday chaired meetings with Members of Provincial Assembly from Bahawalpur and Dera-Ghazi Khan.

The meetings reviewed in detail the suggestions on development and people’s issues and what steps are being taken to improve the future strategy in this regard. While addressing the meetings, the Punjab chief minister said that new Pakistan has introduced the culture of less talk and more work as people have witnessed many hollow promises so it is now time to deliver because actions speak louder than words. He informed that they are working day and night on the 100-days plan of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab will surely play a proactive role in this regard and people will feel the real change in these 100 days as promised. Furthermore, he added that government officials have to work in a creative manner leaving behind the traditional system to solve the problems of the people. The Punjab CM assured that they will increase the capacity of departments and provide facilities to the public.

Those government officials will be encouraged who are actively playing their part in serving the public.

“We will support those officials who are serving the public while strict action will be taken against those who lag behind in implementing government policy,” he said adding that he will spend a day in Divisional Headquarters to listen to the issues by himself and further added that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government has introduced an open door policy in government offices so that people could reach the concerned officers directly.

“Action will be taken against those who kept people waiting for two hours or more,” the CM said adding that consultation process with MPAs will be continued and that his doors are open for all the MPAs. He said that Clean Pakistan campaign in the province is getting started and “we will make South Punjab a role model in terms of development and every work will be done with the consultation of MPAs”.

“We will not allow anyone to interfere in the solution of public problems,” the CM said adding that public issues were totally neglected in the past nevertheless new Pakistan will give the basic rights to the poor as well. Due to the wrong policies of previous rulers, the country has de-tracked from its original direction so they are guilty before the nation.

“We have made Pakistan move towards this real destination in one month,” he assured saying that politicians and officers in new Pakistan will serve public and the policy of merit, economics and transparency has been adopted in the new Pakistan.

“A zero tolerance policy has been adopted against corruption and no work will be done without merit in Punjab,” he said adding that an effective policy has been adopted for the immediate solution of public issues and implementation on a devised policy has been ensured.

The CM said that police reforms are in their last stages towards completion and prosperity will soon be the destined for the masses because “we cannot deny our party name”.

The CM listened to the recommendations and issues of the members and issued orders on the spot. Provincial ministers, MPAs, administrative and police officials and concerned officers were also present on this occasion.

Separately, Punjab CM Usman Buzdar congratulated the government, leadership and public of China on their national day.

In his felicitation message, the CM said that PTI extends its good wishes to the people and leadership of China on their national day.

“China is one of the world’s biggest economic forces and most trustworthy and sincere friends of Pakistan who has supported Pakistan in every hour of need. The Chinese nation under great leadership has made great struggle with sincerity against poverty, unemployment and injustice. Under the governance of Chinese President Xi Jinping, China has touched new horizons of development and its rapid development and prosperity is a role model for international community,” the CM said adding that with the grace of Allah Almighty, Pakistan has also got a real leader. New Pakistan will further strengthen and stabilise ties with China as “we will learn from its development model to change Pakistan”.

He said that Pakistan and China have the same verdict in respect of global affairs, peace and mutual respect. Pak-China relations are touching new heights due to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and their friendship is seen as an example in the world. The CM assured that this relationship will be stronger than ever in the era of PM Imran Khan.
