Army begins relief operation in Chitral

ISLAMABAD: On the directives of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa (COAS), the army on Monday initiated an air relief operation for the people affected by avalanches in different areas of Chitral. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army airlifted relief items, including ration, stoves, blankets and medicines, to the affected people in Sher Shal village under the supervision of Chitral Scouts Commandant Col Nizam.

The Chief of Army Staff had directed troops to provide all assistance to the local administration in their relief efforts. Military sources said that the army and FC personnel have already provided relief items to the affected people in Chaghai and other areas.
