PTI workers eyeing important positions left vacant by PMLN

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) workers seem to be eyeing important positions in different government departments introduced by the previous government.

PTI office bearers that include District President Shehryar Khan, former Members of Provincial Assembly Arif Abbasi and Asif Mahmood, former city president Chaudhry Asghar, Haroon Hashmi and others are attempting to get key positions in government departments such as the Water & Sanitation Authority (WASA), Rawalpindi Development Authority, the Market Committee, Metro Bus Service, Parks & Horticulture Authority and others.

During the tenure of the previous provincial government, office bearers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz were appointed as heads of different government departments including former MPA Ziaullah Shah as WASA chairman and former Member of National Assembly Hanif Abbasi as Metro Bus Service and Punjab Sports Committee chairman. Similarly, former MNA Shakeel Awan was also given the portfolio of Youth Empowerment Programme chairman and former MPA Raja Hanif remained the chairman of Solid Waste Management Company.
