The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Dr Noor ul Haq Qadri said that the incumbent federal government of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) will strive hard to resolve the issues of the tribesmen including the journalist community and in near future the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) merger, that was announced earlier, will be materialized to facilitate the residents of Fata.
He expressed these views while addressing as the chief guest of an oath-taking ceremony of new members of Jamrud Press Club at the Jirga Hall on Saturday.
He further said that through the constitutional amendment, the tribal belt had become part of KP and it could not be reversed. He added that the tribesmen would face difficulties to get familiar with the new system but they would soon start to get the advantages of the new system.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had started his politics from Fata and took keen interest to address the miseries of the tribal people, Qadri remarked.
The minister paid rich tribute to the tribal media persons who lost their lives in the line of duty and urged the journalist community to utilize their energies for the betterment of the masses.
“Power supply has been restored to the Jamrud grid station and Jaba Dam will be initiated on priority basis,” he said while adding that all the possible initiatives will be adopted to improve health facilities in Jamrud and Landi Kotal hospitals.
Former president of Tribal Union of Journalists (TUJ) Khyber chapter Qazi Fazalullah and newly elected president of Jamrud Press Club Awal Ser Afridi also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, the minister administered the oath to the newly elected cabinet of Jamrud Press Club. A large number of local elders, administration officials, local media persons and members of civil society attended the gathering.
