99kg hash seized from Khyber

KHYBER AGENCY: The political administration Khyber recovered 99 kg hashish by foiling three smuggling attempts in tehsils Landi Kotal and Jamrud, Khyber administration official told on Friday.

In first happen took place at Torkham border of Tehsil Landi Kotal,the on duty Khasadar officials apprehended an Afghan citizen while crossing into Pakistan through mountainous area at wee hours on Friday. During search 12 kg hashish were recovered from him. Case was registered against the Afghan smuggler, identified as Niaz Muhammad s/o Abdul Hameed,resident of Achin district of Nengarhar,Afghanistan and was sent to Landi Kotal lock up for investigation, administration official added.

In second incident, 41 kg hashish was recovered from Peshawar bound car bearing registration no. LWG-1214 by Khasadar personnel at Bagyari checkpoint of Tehsil Jamrud during routine checking. One drug pusher known as Gul Muhammad s/o Fazal Muhammad of Landi Kotal was arrested and shifted to Jamrud prison for further interrogation, Line Officer Jamrud,Khan Zeb said.

Similarly, on tip off 46 kg fine quality hashish was also seized during search conducted by Khasadar force on by pass road of Jamrud. The contraband item was concealed in Peshawar bound vehicle. One drug pusher, Zer Faisal s/o Shah Faisal resident of Landi Kotal was arrested.
