Pervaiz Elahi expresses pride in student topping board exams in Gujrat

Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi visited Darul Uloom Muhammadia Ghausia on Wednesday and presented a shield to the student who got gold medal in Gujranwala Board Examinations.

Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Mian Imran Masood, Professor Syed Hamid Shah, Professor Syed Nasim Shah Bukhari and Chaudhry Fakhar Nadeem were also present on the occasion.

Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that it is nice to see children being provided religious and formal education at one place.

“Syed Zahid Siddique Shah laid the foundation of this Darul Uloom and because of his hard work, dedication and positive thinking, a student of this institution obtained a gold medal which has brought honour to Gujrat and this institution today. I pray that this process should continue and this institution be developed into a university,” he said adding that during our tenure a campaign was launched against madaris which former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and I not only stopped but got ulema of all schools of thoughts gather together and secure proposals.

“We suggested former president Pervez Musharraf when he was attending the United Nations meeting to inform the world how the best religious and formal educational institutions are in Pakistan that do not impart terrorism. Pervez Musharraf also agreed with us and said that now, religious education along with formal education is essential. After that, we provided facilities such as free education in schools of Punjab,” he said.
