India should know that it has made a mistake by threatening us: Pervaiz Elahi

Author: Staff Report

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) President and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said on Tuesday that we are moving forwards carrying Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi’s vision whereas Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that Pakistan Army is the best in the world and Pakistanis are a brave nation and India has committed a mistake by challenging us.

PMLQ President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said, “I had promised last year also that I will not support any oppressor or murderer and I stick to my promise today as well.”

He said that the security of Pakistan is the dearest to us and because of this reason only, as the PM, “I had said no to sending our Army to Iraq. I am moving forward carrying the vision of my father Zahoor Elahi. Our entire family is present here today. The respect and honour which the residents of Gujrat have given us, we can never forget that. The people of Gujrat are aware of those who stand true to their promises and those who do not”.

PA Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that journey of service to the people which Zahoor had started 60 years ago. Today “our third generation is carrying it forward. The way former Punjab chief minister has treated the people of Gujrat in the last 10 years is unparalleled”.

He said that the Indian army chief’s threats are foolish.

“Pakistan is an atomic power. Both the countries cannot afford a war. The entire world recognises the Armed Forces of Pakistan. If India committed the mistake of waging war then it will have to pay the price,” he said adding that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has his own agenda.

“Indian-Held Kashmir is slipping out of their hands this is why they are giving such statements. Indian PM Narendra Modi has been trapped in a corruption scandal and he wants to save himself by giving such statements against Pakistan. For safeguarding the motherland, there will only be one voice which will be raised everywhere from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwah and Balochistan. Every child in Pakistan is ready to offer a sacrifice for the Kashmir cause. Insha Allah, Pakistan will become the voice of Islam because now there is no government of former finance minister Ishaq Dar and former PM Nawaz Sharif. The intentions of PM Imran Khan are good and Almighty Allah sees the intentions. Everything will be set right gradually.”

Pervaiz Elahi said that the Wazirabad Cardiology Hospital will begin afresh. An engineering university will be established in Gujrat and also Gujrat-Lahore Motorway, Industrial Estate as well as a technical university will be established. He said “we will move along with our Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf friends and all basic problems will be solved”.

He further said that work on new local bodies system has started. Such a system will be brought that all will be satisfied.

Member of National Assembly Hussain Elahi and NA-65 candidate Salik Hussain also spoke on the occasion whereas Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Chaudhry Shifaat Hussain, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Shafay Hussain, Riaz Asghar Chaudhry, Muhammad Elahi, Hassan Elahi, Sardar Asif Nakai, Mian Imran Masood, Members of Provincial Assembly Abdullah Yousaf, Shujahat Nawaz Ajanala, Bao Rizwan, Rahman Naseer, Asghar Ghural, Ghulam Rasool Shariq, Ashraf Rehania, Dr Zain Bhatti, Syed Salim Shah, advocate Chaudhry Nasir Inayat, Khalid Abbas Dar, Salim Baryar, Malik Zaheer Abbas, Asghar Telwala and other leaders were seated on the stage.

Parliamentarians, chairmen and vice chairmen and a large number of people from all walks of life as well as prominent figures of the four provinces including Azad Jammu & Kashmir also present.
