Police recover Rs 3.2 million from robber

Police on Monday arrested a suspect involved in an armed robbery within 24 hours of the crime and successfully recovered Rs 3.2 million cash from his possession in Gujranwala.

Reportedly, four assailants snatched Rs 3.2 million from an employee Ghulam Abbas of a fruit dealer Khushi Muhammad, and shot him when he resisted them.

Meanwhile, Gujranwala City Police Officer (CPO) constituted an investigation team under the supervision of Kot Ladha police station house officer (SHO) Imtiaz Bhinder. The investigation revealed that Ghulam Abbas along with his wife Kausar planned the robbery and he shot himself.

Child and man died, three people injured in road accidents

A two-year-old child and a man were killed while three other people sustained critical injuries in separate road accidents in Gujranwala on Monday.

Reportedly, Asad Ali, along with his wife and son Hassan, was travelling on a motorcycle when a speeding truck rammed into them.

Resultantly, Hassan died on the spot while Asad and his wife were injured.

In another incident, Muhammad Sadiq and his wife Nusrat were travelling on a motorcycle when a passenger van ploughed into them near Budha Goarya.

Resultantly, Sadiq died on the spot while his wife received severe injuries.

They were rushed to the DHQ Hospital for medical attention.

Two women commit suicide over domestic issues

Two women ended their lives on Monday over trivial domestic issues in Kot Ladha and Qila Mian Singh areas of Gujranwala.

Reportedly, Sidra, wife of Shafiq, quarrelled with her in-laws and allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself to a ceiling fan in Kot Ladha.

In another incident, Munaza swallowed poisonous pills over a domestic issue in Qila Mian Singh.

She was rushed to the DHQ Hospital where she died.

Body found in water tank

Police retrieves dead body of an unidentified man from a water tank in Ladhe Wala Waraich village of Gujranwala.

Reportedly, a few children spotted a dead body in a dysfunctional water tank and informed passersby.

Meanwhile, police started investigation into the matter.
