‘Easier to steal govt vehicles because they don’t have tracking systems’

Government vehicles are easier to steal in the metropolis since they do not have tracking systems installed in them, revealed a suspect allegedly involved in stealing a number of government owned cars in the metropolis.

Ata Mengal allegedly stole a government vehicle in 2013 from near Johar Chowrani in Gulistan-e-Johar. According to details, the suspect stole over ten government vehicles before he got arrested by the Anti-Car Lifting Cell when it took action in the city.

According to a video statement by Mengal and an investigative report on the matter, he stole government-owned vehicles in connivance with drivers working in public offices and then sold them on half the price in Khuzdar and other parts of Balochistan.

It was also revealed during the investigation process that the recent incident in which an official car got snatched from Sachal Goth locality was planned by the driver who was working for a government department.
