Followed by an armed clash between two groups of Lanjar and Chandio tribe over irrigation water dispute on Sunday, killing at least two villagers and injuring three other people near Moro city in the Naushahro Feroze district, a heavy contingent of Mithiani police has been deployed in the region to prevent further deterioration.
According to police sources, the clash erupted in Jumo Norio village in the precinct of the Mithiani police station when members from both tribes opened fire on each other in a fit of rage.
Resultantly, two villagers including Gul Beg Chandio and Ghaus Bux Lanjar died on the spot while three people including Ali Murad Chandio and Ashiq Chandio sustained critical bullet wounds.
Meanwhile, police shifted them to the Moro Hospital for medical attention and after autopsy deceased’s bodies were handed over to their relatives.
Police have started further investigation into the incident.
Lawyer murdered
A senior lawyer succumbed to his injuries at the Civil Hospital in Khairpur on Sunday, after he was mercilessly beaten by a suspect allegedly over an enmity between two rival groups of Kalhoro community.
Reportedly, a senior advocate Hakim Ali Kalhoro was beaten with a wooden club when a conflict erupted between the groups over drainage of water in Kalhoro village.
Subsequently, the Therhi police rushed him to the hospital for medical attention, but was declared dead on arrival by doctors.
Meanwhile, his body has been handed over to his relatives after autopsy and police have started further investigation into the incident.
