KARACHI: Police force claimed to have killed an alleged criminal in an encounter and arrested 24 suspects during raids in different parts of the metropolis on Wednesday.
Police officials said an accused, Fazal alias Baghi, was killed in a police encounter in Quaidabad. The slain was accused of involvement in various crimes.
Police also apprehended two robbers in injured condition near Iqbal Market in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and recovered weapons from their possession. The arrested criminals were allegedly involved in street crimes.
Meanwhile, a street criminal was nabbed at Madina Colony in Baldia Town, while another was detained from Aligarh Market in Orangi Town.
Furthermore, Jackson police carried out an operation in the Kemari area and rounded up at least 20 suspects. Investigation against the arrested suspects was underway, police said.
