Shoaib Akhtar wants Amir to play against India

DUBAI: Speedster Shoaib Akhtar on Sunday advised Pakistan cricket team to put pacer Muhammad Amir in the line-up of Super Four fixture against India at Dubai International Stadium.

“Muhammad Amir might not get the swing in Dubai pitches, but he is an experienced campaigner and should play against India because he has the ability to change the match on his own,” Shoaib Akhtar shared his opinion regarding today’s match against Pakistan and India.

Referring to the group stages fixture in which India convincingly beat Pakistan by 8-wickets, Akhtar said the team should forget about what happened in the past and focus on the upcoming battle.

He added that the top-order, especially openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq must take their time. “The key is to make a good start and then capitalise on it. Not just the top order, the middle order, but the entire batting line-up needs to step up.”

Pakistan will face India today at 4:30pm Pakistan time.
