181 mourning processions observed in Larkana amid tight security

LARKANA: As many as 181 mourning processions and 179 majalis were observed on ‘Youm-e-Ashura’ in the entire district of Larkana with religious solemnity.

Reportedly, 16 processions and 9 majalis were declared extremely sensitive where over 3,000 policemen along with 300 rangers were deployed. All mourners were allowed to participate in processions after physical body search. Meanwhile, a Sham-e-Gareeban Majlis was held at Pakistan Chowk. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shabir Sethar ensured foolproof security arrangements on the occasion and kept a vigilant eye over the situation. Moreover, all major roads and streets were sealed and commuters had to use alternative routes.
