Railways headquarter to be shifted from Lahore to Karachi: Sheikh Rasheed

LAHORE: Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad announced on Saturday that a big part of railways headquarter will be shifted from Lahore to Karachi within 60 days.

Addressing a press conference at Railways Headquarter in the city, the minister said that Nawaz Sharif and their party looted the country’s wealth.

“The country has to pay 6 billion interest every day,” Rasheed added.

The minister further said, “Railways department is facing 38 billion deficit and is under 25 billion debt.”

“We need hard work to make the railways department functional again,” he added.

Rasheed went on to say, ” We need 23 thousand workers in the department, however, a summary for the recruitment of 10 thousand workers, for the time being, has been sent to the Prime Minister (PM).

Sharing new train routes’ details, the minister informed that three new trains will be started soon. The first train will operate on October 1st and will be named as Faisalabad express.

The second train, Mohenjo Daro express, will function from October 16 and will pass through three routes namely Larkana, Sehwan Sharif, and Jamshoro, Rasheed further said.

Moreover, the third train, Rohi express will also start functioning on October 16 and will pass through three routes namely Pannu Aqil, Ghotki, and Sadiq Abad.
