Two dozen criminals arrested in separate raids

KARACHI: The Police have arrested 24 criminals during raids in different parts of the city on Wednesday.

Six people have been arrested from PS Mominabad area. The Police has informed that the accused were involved in criminal activities in Peerabad and Nazimabad areas.

Two motorcycles, four pistols, one revolver and six cell phones were recovered from the possession of the alleged criminals.

Shershah police has arrested two men involved in mobile snatching.

SHO Shershah Imdad Khuwaja has informed that Noman and Khanzada were involved in mobile phone snatching in the area. The accused were also running a mobile selling shop.

According to the Police seven cell phones have been recovered from the possession of the accused.

A case has been registered against the accused.

Separately, police has arrested a criminal from Ali Garh Market in Orangi Town after an encounter.

According to SSP East Nasir Aftab, Imran alias Mangoo was arrested from Orangi Town after an encounter. He told that the accused was involved in a murder case registered at Orangi Town police station.

Police arrested two persons and recovered weapons after an encounter near Metro cinema in the limits of Peerabad police station.

Police said that one TT pistol and one 9MM was recovered from the possession of the accused identified as Siraj-ul-Haq and Shohaban.

Meanwhile, Gulbahar police arrested one suspected street criminal during a raid.

Police said that an illegal weapon was recovered from the accused, who was identified as Kamran.

Police also arrested six criminals from Sukhya Goth during a raid.

According to the police the six accused were gambling at the time of the raid. An FIR has been registered against the suspects

At least four criminals were arrested during targeted raids conducted in Landi, Baldia and Orangi Town areas. According to Rangers spokesperson, a member of a militant wing of political party and two culprits involved in sectarian based targeted killings were among the arrested criminals while arms and ammunitions were also recovered from their possession.paramilitary troops also conducted targeted raids in Shah Faisal Colony, Jamshed Town and Lyari neighbourhood.

Rangers spokesperson has said that six criminals were arrested during the raids, added that two members of a militant wing of political party, one gangster from Lyari gang war and one extortionist were among the arrested persons.

Rangers also claim to have recovered weapons from their possession. The suspects were shifted to undisclosed location for further questioning.
