Blue Area needs to prosper in order to attract investment: ATWA

A delegation of All Traders Welfare Association (ATWA), Blue Area, Islamabad visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) led by its President Yousaf Rajput and exchanged views with ICCI office bearers on the development of Blue Area as a modern business avenue on Wednesday.

ATWA Secretary General Raja Hassan Akhtar, ATWA Patron-in-Chief Mian Akram Farid, ATWA Chairman Malik Saghir Ahmed, ATWA Founder Syed Amin Pirzada and others were in the delegation. The newly elected office bearers of ICCI, Ahmed Hassan Mughal, Rafat Farid and Iftikhar Anwar Sethi were also present at the occasion.

Addressing the delegation, Sheikh Amir Waheed, of ICCI said that Blue Area was the largest business bay of the federal capital and urged that Capital Development Authority and Municipal Corporation Islamabad should focus on developing it on modern lines to facilitate the growth of business activities. He said that roads carpeting in Blue Area has started, which is laudable, however, other development works should also be undertaken in this business area. He further said that Blue Area needed better facilities of car parking to cater to the needs of traders and customers.

Muhammad Naveed Malik and Nisar Mirza of ICCI thanked ATWA Blue Area delegation for visiting the chamber and assured that ICCI would fully cooperate with the association in resolving key issues of traders of the area.

ATWA President Yousaf Rajput speaking at the occasion said that with the efforts of the association and the chamber, the carpeting of roads has been started in Blue Area after 12 years that would resolve the longstanding issue of traders. He said being the largest business centre of Islamabad, Blue Area needed to be developed as a modern looking business bay. It would accelerate business activities, encourage investment and improve the local economy, he added. He thanked ICCI for hosting ATWA delegation and vowed that they would work with the Chamber to resolve the problems of traders.

Zubair Ahmed Malik thanked the traders of Blue Area for voting for the group’s nominees into power during the ICCI annual elections. He assured that ICCI would take all possible measures for promoting the cause of traders and industrialists.

Raja Hassan Akhtar, Mian Akram Farid, Malik Saghir Ahmed, Syed Amin Pirzada, ICCI former president M Ejaz Abbasi, Baser Daud, Khalid Chaudhary and others also spoke on the occasion and stressed for the better development of Blue Area.
