The police arrested the accused Ashraf at midnight. On his revelation, the police called Zahid, the buyer of the child from Chakwal to Rawalpindi.

On Wednesday the police handed over the baby to the mother and presented him before the SDPO New Town ASP Tauheed-ur-Rehman Memon in his office. Amina in her statement told the police that she married to Ashraf at Skardu some 16 months ago. After reaching Rawalpindi with him, she came to know that her husband has a loose character.

She told the police that in her house at Rawalpindi another girl named Hajira belonged to Khuplo was also living there, whose child was also sold by accused Ashraf to some unknown persons.

Afzal, paternal uncle of affected Amina told Daily Times that two persons namely Mirza Ahmed , an employee of PWD Skardu and a resident of Chakri Babu Hameed, are also involved in this illicit buying and selling.

“Police is forcing us to reconcile in the matter with the culprits and we are getting regular threats from the other side too,” he added.
