Nobel Peace Prize winner education activist Malala Yousafzai has joined the microblogging site Twitter on Friday, she announced by saying “Hi, Twitter.”
Malala’s Twitter handle @Malala has already gotten over 320k followers at the time of writing this web report, just 11 hours after joining it.
Her Twitter account also has a blue verification tick confirming her identity. She announced on her Twitter account that she will be more involved in her activism fighting for girls’ rights worldwide after recently graduating from high school.

While it’s a welcome sign that Malala has decided to use the power of social media to directly engage with masses her cause, she will have to brace for some of the trolling she gets especially from her own country Pakistan where many believe she faked Taliban’s attack just to be used as a pawn by the West.
Malala Yousafzai was shot in the head by Taliban in 2012 when her school bus came under attack but she miraculously survived the attack after hours of surgical treatment first in Pakistan and then in London.
She had become a symbol for girls’ education and resistance against Taliban oppression in her native Swat long before the attack.
