Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar has said that to promote peace and inter-faith harmony, the religious scholars in their sermons need to spread the universal message of love, patience as well as the achievements of Islam.
He expressed these views while talking to a delegation of ulema led by Hassan Kazmi, which called on him on Tuesday.
The Punjab governor said that ulema and intellectuals will have to promote inter-sect tolerance, communal harmony and brotherhood in the society to eliminate extremism.
Meanwhile, talking to United States Consul General Colleen Crenwelge, who called on him, Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said that Pakistan fought the longest war against terror and rendered countless sacrifices for the sake of global peace.
