Wonderland Park’s contractor under fire for involvement in illegal constructions

Author: Staff Report

Contractor of the Wonderland Park has started illegal construction of shops in the park without any approval from the concerned authorities.

According to details, the contractor of Wonderland situated in Nawaz Sharif Park has started illegal constructions of shops which will be sub-rented after the completion.

Sources said the whole illegal construction is allegedly taking place under the joint supervision of Municipal Corporation Tax Inspector Raja Azad and the contractor. It is also worthy to mention that the said lease/contract of the park has already expired in February 2018. To award a fresh contract, MCR invited the bids, but none of the party came with his offer, due to which the corporation authorities are helpless to award the contract to any other party.

When contacted, Municipal Corporation’s State Officer Shahzad Naveed Gohar said, construction in the park is illegal.

“I will inquire from Raja Azad about the matter on who is responsible for the check and balance,” he said.

“When I came to know about the illegal construction, I immediately ordered the contractor to stop the construction,” Raja Azad said while talking exclusively to Daily Times.

But when investigated, the construction work was still going on.
