PM leaves for Saudi Arabia, UAE today

Prime Minister Imran Khan will leave on a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday (today).

“PM will undertake a state visit to Saudi Arabia on September 18-19 on the invitation of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman,” the Foreign Office said.

This would be the first-ever foreign visit of the prime minister since assuming the office on August 19 this year.

During the visit, Prime Minister Imran Khan will call on King Salman and hold a meeting with Crown Prince Muhammad.Bilateral relations, regional security situation and issues confronting the Muslim Ummah will come under discussion.

The king will host a state banquet for the prime minister and his delegation at the Royal Court. Accompanying ministers and members of the delegation will meet their Saudi counterparts to discuss bilateral cooperation.

The prime minister will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Minister for Finance Asad Umer and Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdur Razzaq Dawood.

During the visit, Secretary General of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr Yousef bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen will also call on the prime minister.

After the completion of Saudi Arabia’s visit, the prime minister along with his delegation will depart for UAE on an official visit.Crown Prince Sheikh Muhammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan had invited Imran Khan to visit UAE.
