Shehbaz slams hike in gas tariff

Author: News Desk

The President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the current Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif said in a statement on Monday that those who took vote by singing songs of welfare have taken the relief away from the public by hiking the gas prices.

“This hike would have the biggest impact on the working class and would further downtrodden the poor. The decisions made by Economic Advisory Council (ECC) under the leadership of Asad Umar have shown the true face of the government. PML-N firmly opposes this 10-145 % increase in gas prices”, said the ex-Punjab chief minister.

Shehbaz Sharif said that this increase in gas prices is unprecedented, and this blatant squeezing of the poor would increase the already growing debt on them. “This decision would also effect the prices of fertilizers and other day to day products. We demand that this decision taken by the government is immediately terminated,” added the PML-N leader.
