ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s High commissioner to UK Sahibzada Ahmed Khan, who was summoned by the Foreign Ministry to explain his position over his inappropriate appearance in a TV award ceremony in London, has arrived in the capital today.

Highly placed official sources told Daily Times that Khan would appear before Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi who took strong exception of his inappropriate conduct at award show last week in London.

He has received explanation letter from foreign office and has been asked to give verbal and in writing reply to the foreign minister and foreign secretary.

Sources told Daily times that If his reply to explanation letter could not satisfy the top brass of the foreign ministry, he is likely to be removed from high commissioner position and could be made OSD.

It was Sahibzada Ahmed Khan’s first ambassador level coveted posting to UK.

The high commissioner before proceeding to London was serving as chief of protocol at the foreign office. He also served in New York and Toronto as Pakistani counsel General in the past.

Sahibzada Ahmed Khan who is BPS-21 grade officer of the foreign service of Pakistan is the second ambassador who has been called back just after one and half month of his posting.

Pakistan’s high commissioner to Australia Naila Chohan was recalled by Islamabad for servant rights’ violation in Australia. She was called back from Canberra in April this year to explain her position on the issue. High level inquiry was also conducted against her but report was not made public.
