Education reforms

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Reforming education is crucial for making a nation vigilant and conscious of taking part in healthy and positive activities that helps the country reach its maximum possible potential. Currently, Pakistan’s educational structure is in a dismal state. The students have been confined to get high marks, irrespective of considering the philosophy behind why we need education in the first place. They start a race to surpass their fellows in play group and it continues until they accomplish their degree in a university.

This trend must be ended and soon. The sheep like students seem like they are caught in the headlights as they struggle to come to grip with life after they graduate, as they realize that they have in fact learned nothing about how to survive in the real world.

This race to get the highest possible marks should be gotten rid off, and an analytical based comprehensive study plan should be proposed. In addition, technical education should be introduced to the school level so that after matriculation, poor students can at least do some part time jobs in order to make a living for themselves and their families.
