Sheikh Rasheed vows to improve railway, reduce debts by December 30

RAWALPINDI: Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed claimed on Thursday to will improve railways and reduce debt by December 30.

Speaking to the media at the Rawalpindi Railway Station, Rasheed said, “The task Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan gave me, regarding railways, will be completed soon.”

The minister vowed, “I promise I will keep a check on railways even if I have to disguise and conduct raids.”

Talking about the debt on railways, Rasheed claimed, “We will erase the Rs42 million deficit that our department hold and will end it within one year.”

While sharing his plans about the facilities that will be provided on the trains, the railway minister apprised, “Wi-Fi along with the functional fans and lights will be provided within a hundred days.”

Rashed further said that they are aiming to reduce prices rather than increasing them. “Right now, we will focus on making the best use of the money we have,” he added.

Most of the passenger trains are old and we need to repair them, the minister further said.

Rasheed stressed that he has zero tolerance for corruption.

“The railways will be ‘on track’ till 30 December,” Rasheed vowed.
