QUETTA: Former Pakistan captain Younus Khan on Tuesday urged the nation to cordially participate in dams fundraising and do their bit in the development of the country.

Speaking to the media in Quetta, Younus congratulated the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on forming the government and said that it was the ruling party’s responsibility to unite the nation.

He added that apart from the construction of the Diamer-Bhasha dam, the government should also initiate other mega-projects too which will help the country in the longer run.

Speaking about the Asia Cup 2018 fixture between Pakistan and India, Younus said: “The game between Pakistan and India will be exciting. There is a fifty-fifty chance for both the teams and whoever plays the best will win.”

Pakistan will take on India on September 19 in Asia Cup.

The veteran batsman, who led Pakistan to their victory in the 2009 ICC World T20, said regular series between the two countries was important. “A series like Ashes can be played between the two teams. It doesn’t have to be every year. It would be every two years or three years,” he added.
