Haddin’s stunning 73 helps Islamabad down Peshawar in opener

DUBAI: Defending champions Islamabad United defeated Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets in the opening match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) second edition at Dubai International Stadium here on Thursday night. Chasing a revised total of 173 in 18 overs to win the first match, Misbahul Haq-led unit achieved the target with two balls to spare, courtesy former Australian wicketkeeper batsman Brad Haddin’s breathtaking 73 off just 39 balls, with the help of eight fours and three sixes. Earlier, Peshawar posted a mammoth total of 190 for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs, thanks Kamran Akmal’s stunning 88 off 48 balls, with the help of six fours and six sixes.
