Besides a large number of people from all walks of life, the occasion was the graced by the presence of Labour and HR dept Secretary Abid Hussain Zawawi, Labour Director Kadim Hussain Bhutto, lavour leaders and senior representatives of employers.
At the end of the rally, the labour secretary highlighted the steps taken by the Government to improve the Health and Safety conditions at all workplace and expressed solidarity with the victims.
Meanwhile, Advisor to the chief minister on Information Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that tragedy of 12th May as well as Baldia were like tragedies against the society. He added that both the matters had become sub judice and it was up to the courts to take a decision.
He said that the government would extend full cooperation to the court and implement its orders. He appealed to the court to expedite the cases to bring culprits to justice. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said he believed that elements behind these tragedies did not wish for democracy to flourish and were involved in curbing dissent.
