NHMP, QLC sign MoU for provision of scholarships to their employees’ children

Only professional and technical education can guarantee the bright future of any country and “we will have to equip our future generation well with higher education if we want to materialise our dream of a modern and progressive Pakistan”.

This was said by National Highway & Motorway Police Inspector General Amir Zulfiqar Khan on the occasion of signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NHMP and Quaid-e-Azam Law College (QLC). The MoU was for provision of special educational package for the children of NHMP employees.

It was signed by Headquarters Deputy Inspector General Raja Riffat Mukhtar, QLC Chief Executive Officer Chaudhry Muhammad Salim and QLC Principal Nafeer A Malik. As per details, the children of martyred, injured in the line of duty and in service officers will get 50 percent waiver upon total dues of LLB as scholarship.

NHMP inspector general said that provision of higher education to the children in leading educational institutes is a big challenge and as commander, he wanted his employees to encourage their children to get technical and professional education. He said that it was need of the hour to equip our young generation with higher quality education to see Pakistan flourish as a prosperous country. He added that NHMP focuses on help, education and enforcement and providing help to the distressed road users was their top priority.

QLC CEO Chaudhry Muhammad Salim said that his group recognises the professionalism of Motorway Police which is known for its honesty and courteous dealing all over the world. This MoU is the acknowledgment of services rendered by Motorway Police and ensured that the scope of this MoU will be extended to other campuses of QLC in other cities as well.

Nafeer A Malik said that it was an honour to be a part of this MoU with a department known for its professionalism and public friendly policing style. The work of Motorway Police for road safety is worth appreciation, he further added.

Motorway Police officers present on the occasion responded that provision of quality education is a big task for employees with average income and these welfare oriented steps of NHMP IG Amir Zulfiqar Khan will act as a catalyst for uplift of their morale. The officers thanked the IG for his welfare policies.
