Ceremony honouring position holders in BA/BSc Annual Exams 2018 held at PU

LAHORE: Punjab University on Monday announced the result of BA/BSc Annual Examinations 2018 with a pass percentage of 44.33.

As per the statistics, the total candidates who appeared in BA/BSc Annual Examination 2018 were 224,143 out of which 99,366 candidates passed the exams while the overall pass percentage was 44.33.

The total candidates who appeared in BA/BSc Annual Exam Part-I 2018 were 131,815 out of which 51,980 candidates passed with the pass percentage of 39.43. The total number of candidates who appeared in BA/BSc Annual Exam Part-II 2018 was 84,266 out of which 43,767 candidates passed with the pass percentage of 51.94

The total number of candidates who appeared in BA/BSc Annual Exam (Composite) 2018 was 5,608 out of which 1,968 candidates passed the exam with a pass percentage of 35.09.

The total number of candidates who appeared in the BA/BSc Annual Exam 2018 (Special Category) was 2,454 out of which 1,651 candidates passed with a pass percentage of 67.28.

The total number of candidates who appeared in BA/BSc Annual Exam 2018 (male) was 67,013 out of which 20,534 candidates passed the exam with a pass percentage of 30.64. The total number of candidates who appeared in BA/BSc Annual Examination 2018 (female) were 157,130 out of which 78,832 candidates passed the exams with a pass percentage of 50.16.

According to the result, BSc student Muhammad Umer Ali stood first and obtained 712 marks. BSc student Sidra Khan stood second by securing 711 marks, while BSc student Rukhsana Nazer stood third by securing 699 marks. In BA, Saima Jabeen stood first by securing 666 marks. Shazma Rahman stood second by securing 646 marks and Zeenat Anmol came third by obtaining 641 marks.

Addressing a ceremony to honour position holders, PU Vice Chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed said that women’s education was a must because “if we want to produce a great nation, we must produce educated mothers”.

PU VC Professor Niaz Ahmed said that no nation could prosper without giving importance to education. He said that education must be “our priority because we have no future without education”.

He said that PU administration aimed at producing quality graduates therefore we were making efforts to make our academic programmes at par with international academic programmes.

He said that “we were improving our BA/BSc degree programme as our graduates must have skills relevant to their fields”.

He congratulated position holders, their parents, relatives and their teachers on their landmark achievement and announced to provide free education and scholarships to position holders who wanted to study at PU. The VC announced Rs 500,000 honourarium for the staff of Department of Examinations and Rs 100,000 for monitoring teams for showing outstanding performance.
