CDA continues crackdown against encroachments for third consecutive day

Capital Development Authority (CDA)’s massive operation against encroachments and illegal construction on Kashmir Highway continued on the third day over special directives of Prime Minister Imran Khan to free all government property from illegal encroachments, a CDA official confirmed on Monday.

During the third day of the operation, several encroachments, buildings and constructions in violation of CDA Building Regulations Act were demolished, while several acres of land were also repossessed.

The official added that the CDA officials briefed PM Imran Khan on the overall situation of the city regarding encroachments, after which he ordered to recover land from the encroachments and ensure the safety of the capital.

Following the directives of the prime minister, CDA departments are busy in recovery of government land in the capital to restore the beauty of the city.

CDA Member Estate Khushal Khan, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqat, Senior Superintendent Police Operations Najeeb Bagvi, Enforcement Director Fahim Badshah, Building Control Section director, MPO director, officers of Islamabad Capital Territory Administration including assistant commissioners, officers of Islamabad police and officers of concerned formations of CDA were also present on the occasion. The operation was participated by more than 350 officials of Enforcement and other concerned formations while heavy contingents of Islamabad police, Rangers and Counter Terrorism Force officials were also there.
