ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took notice of the application of an overseas Pakistani about National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) charging an exorbitant fee for issuance and cancellation of Pakistan Origin Card (POC).
The fee is causing financial burden on overseas Pakistanis as they were paying $100 to NADRA for preparation of POC.
The fee was increased previously to $150 and now it is further increased to Rs 22, 000 and POC cancellation fee is Rs 31, 500.
The increment of the fees has discouraged the overseas Pakistanis to get the POC.
CJP has called for a report from the NADRA Islamabad chairman within 10 days.
