DC Lahore directs all officials to complete security arrangements before Muharram 1

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Anwarul Haq has directed assistant commissioners of the provincial metropolis to complete security arrangements before the start of Muharram in their respective premises and submitted its report at the DC’s Office.

In connection of Muharram, a Control Room would be established in the DC Office which is to be functional from Muharram 1.

This was said and revealed in a meeting regarding the review of arrangements for Muharram. DC Lahore Anwarul Haq and two Members of Provincial Assembly Nazeer Chohan and Chaudhry Ameen chaired the meeting which was attended by licence holders of processions, police officers, Lahore Waste Management Company, Water & Sanitation Authority and other concerned departments.

Assistant commissioners of the respective tehsils have briefed the higher-ups about the meeting which was conducted with stakeholders.

On the occasion, Anwarul Haq ensured licence holders of the processions and majalis that the patch work on their procession routes, elimination of encroachment, cleanliness arrangements and security would be up to the mark. He also directed officials to change the light en-route of the processions and in the surrounding areas of the majalis which is not working properly. He also directed police to install walk through gates on the entry points of the procession and administration would set up water stalls in different areas for mourners.
