Chinese president Xi congratulates Alvi on securing presidential slot

BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday congratulated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr Arif Alvi on becoming the 13th president of Pakistan.

Xi stated that Pak-China friendship will continue to grow and remain solid despite of changing international situation, adding that both countries are good neighbours and will remains as brotherly nations.

In his message, the Chinese president observed that both countries back in 2015 had decided to increase their bilateral relations which is turning out to be fruitful as the mutual political trust is getting stronger.

Moreover, the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) not only benefiting both nations but also has a positive impact on the region as well, he added.

Xi further said that he was willing to work with newly elected President Alvi to increase their cooperation.

On September 4, the Chinese Foreign Ministry also congratulated Arif Alvi on securing the presidential slot.
