The accountability court hearing a reference on the Nandipur power project probe on Wednesday issued summons for Babar Awan, who resigned his position as an advisor to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday, as well as Raja Pervez Ashraf, former PM, and five others.
The court has also ordered former law secretary Masood Chishti and Riaz Kiyani to appear on the same day.
The reference was filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over alleged delay in the project, inflicting a loss of Rs27 billion to the national exchequer.
The hearing will now resume on September 18.
Earlier on Tuesday, Babar Awan tendered his resignation from the advisory position after a reference was filed against him in connection with the Nandipur Power Project probe.
In his resignation sent to the PM, the PTI leader said that he has resigned from his post to prove that the allegations against him are baseless.
