KHYBER- Chairman Anti-Narcotics Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP), Sheraz Gauhar, said that the use of narcotics, especially the ‘ice’, was immensely effecting the youth and the issue should be addressed on war footings.
Talking to the local media on his visit to the Landi Kotal Press Club on Monday, Gauhar said that recently the use of narcotic drugs increased many folds in society that effected the youth of the country.
He maintained that after merging into the KP, the tribal area directly came in the jurisdiction of the KP government therefore; the Anti-Narcotics department would establish a permanent office in Landi Kotal to adopt measures to curtain the use of narcotic drugs in the area.
“In this connection, awareness sessions will be arranged in schools and colleges in Landi Kotal area to impart disadvantages of the narcotics to the students,” he vowed.
Gauhar also urged every segment of the society to join hands with them to purge the area from the curse of narcotics.
