A seven-year-old boy was murdered after allegedly being subjected to sexual abuse in Sherakot police limits on Sunday.

A number of locals, family members and others blocked the main Bund Road near Babu Sabu Interchange after placing the dead body of the minor. Consequently, a long queue of vehicles on both sides of the road was observed for several hours.

According to details, the deceased identified as Salman of Bund Road was on his way when a local accused identified as Nazim Sheikh took him into a field and severely wounded him with knife after raping him. The accused tried to escape from the scene but local residents caught him on the spot and handed him over to the concerned police officials after beating him up.

The injured boy was shifted to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The police have registered a case against the accused and have shifted the dead body to the city mortuary for autopsy.

Upon being informed about the death of the child in the hospital, his family members, locals and other relatives gathered near Babu Sabu Interchange and blocked the road after placing the dead body on the road. The protesters chanted slogans against the police and demanded the prime minister and the chief justice to hang the accused in front of the public at the same place.

The police officers reached the spot and assured the crowd that justice will soon be served.
