Body formed to probe Sharjeel Memon liquor case

KARACHI: A high-level committee has been formed by Inspector General (IG) Sindh to probe Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon’s case after alcohol, drugs were found during Chief justice (CJ) surprise visit to his hospital room.

The committee will be headed by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Javed Alam Ohdo.

Superintendent Police (SP) investigation South and SP investigation East are also included in the committee.

The committee will present its report within a week after completing the investigation.

Earlier, former Sindh information minister (IT) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Sharjeel Memon were transferred back to Central Jail in Karach on Saturday after Chief Justice Saqib Nisar raid on his hospital room.
