New APTMA leadership elected unopposed

LAHORE: Adil Bashir was elected unopposed as the Chairman All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Punjab on Saturday.

As per the election schedule, the Election Commission carried out scrutiny of the nomination papers and announced that no candidate filed the nomination papers against Bashir for the office of Chairman APTMA Punjab.

Similarly, Abdul Raheem Nasir, Amir and Sharjeel Khalid were elected unopposed as the Senior Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman and Treasurer for APTMA Punjab respectively.

Besides, another nine executive committee members were also elected unopposed for the APTMA Punjab and six members from Punjab and five members from Sindh were also elected unopposed for the Central Executive Committee of APTMA.

The Group leader APTMA, Gohar Ejaz, congratulated the new office bearers and members of executive committees who were elected unopposed and pointed out that his group secured success for the consecutive 10th year. He urged the newly-elected leadership to continue with their passion of serving the members as herculean challenges were ahead to rescue the textile industry from crisis.

Speaking on the occasion, Bashir vowed to resolve the industry issues by ensuring workable liaison with the government. He thanked the members for reposing their confidence in him to serve the industry.
