KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar on Saturday ordered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Imran Ali Shah to donate Rs 3 million within 15 days to the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund for torturing a citizen in Karachi.

Justice Nisar conducted hearing of the suo moto case against PTI’s Imran Shah for thrashing citizen in Karachi on August 14.

In his remarks, the CJP slammed Shah saying that no one even thrashes an animal like that. “This is unacceptable. We will not spare you. You are a representative of the public, and this is how you behave?” Nisar continued.

To this, the PTI leader apologised and said: “Sorry sir, I am ashamed.”

The CJP, however, did not accept Shah’s apology. “What do you mean by sorry? I remember when I hit my servant with a belt as a child, my father did the same to me to teach me a lesson. We should do the same to you.”

The chief justice then questioned the victim Daud Chohan as to why he forgave the PTI leader. “Why did you forgive him?” Chohan said he forgave Shah because he came to his residence and apologised in person.

“How many times did you slap Chohan?” CJP then quizzed Imran Shah. Upon his answer that he hit Chohan 4 times, CJP said that same should happen to the PTI leader. “We should slap you 4 times too and that too, publicly.”
