ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has learnt through a recent report compiled by intelligence agencies that his party would lose more than 100 seats in Punjab in the next general elections.
Sources told Daily Times that the secret agencies issued an alarming report in which it is revealed that improvement of the systems of policing, education and heath in Punjab are the demand of the public and they don’t need the construction of new roads, orange line train and metro bus service.
In the wake of the report, Nawaz has issued special funds to PML-N lawmakers in consultation with his brother Shahbaz Sharif and other close aides so that they could initiate development projects in their constituencies without wasting time.
It was also decided in the meetings of PML-N top leadership that the PM and the Punjab CM would frequently visit different areas, adding that they would also seek reports from their party lawmakers about the developmental work in their areas.
Nawaz has started acting upon his plan as he is visiting different cities and announcing the mega developmental projects.
On the other hand, the Finance Ministry has prepared a feasibility report regarding enhancing the discretionary funds of the PM.
Sources said the report was in fact a message for Nawaz to put his house in order.
The report stated that the PML-N would lose approximately 100 seats in the upcoming elections as the party’s lawmakers are fed up with the nepotism of the Sharifs.
The PML-N legislators realised the fact that developmental work in the country, especially in Punjab, was not carried out in such a way that the people were expecting from the government. They also told the PM and CM during several meetings that the orange line train and metro bus service were not the palliative for the wound of the people but they want better healthcare facilities, good education for their children and cheap and instant justice.
After going through the report, Nawaz has assigned the task to a secret agency to inform him that which developmental projects are needed in which districts.
