ECP bans cell phones in polling stations during presidential elections

LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday has banned cells phones or any other electronic device in the premises of polling station during upcoming presidential elections.

In this regard, the ECP has directed all the presiding officers and has asked them to keep secrecy of ballot.

The election is expected to be held on September 4.

The ECP has already published the final list of candidates on August 30.

The candidates include Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Dr. Arif Alvi, Jamiat Ulema-e Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Aitzaz Ahsan.
