LAHORE: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah blamed the protest demonstration that was taking plac at Charing Cross, for the explosion that occurred in the area on Monday night.

“Had there been no protest demonstration, this incident would not have occurred,” he told media sources.

The National Counter Terrorism Authority issued a threat alert on Feb 7, saying a terrorist group had planned an attack in Lahore.

The security of buildings like the Governor House, Punjab Assembly and Lahore High Court had been beefed up due to the threats received.
