Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal said on Wednesday assured Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Dr Arif Alvi of his party’s support in the presidential election.

Speaking to the media in Quetta alongside Dr Alvi, the CM said that Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) was in coalition with the PTI in the province as well as the centre. He said the BAP lawmakers in the Senate, National and provincial assembly would vote for Dr Alvi in the presidential election. “We will be with them [the PTI],” he said, praising Dr Alvi’s credibility, which he said was established during his tenure as MNA.

At Wednesday’s press briefing, Kamal vowed to work for solving the province’s problems. “We ask forgiveness from the people Balochistan for what has happened in the past and will resolve their issues in a practical way that will bring change in their lives,” he said, adding that the two parties would use their partnership to help Balochistan progress. Dr Alvi thanked Kamal and other BAP leaders, and vowed to strengthen the alliance.
